We recently completed a branding campaign for the Abegweit Biodiversity Enhancement Hatchery which included collateral material such as the brochure pictured here.
The Mi’kmaq people are dedicated stewards of the land and the water. Protecting the environment is a key component of that stewardship.
The Abegweit Biodiversity Enhancement Hatchery is the Island’s only hatchery that has a restocking program and operates under the Abegweit First Nation Fisheries and Natural Resources program. Currently, brook trout and Atlantic salmon are raised at the facility, which is located in Scotchfort, Prince Edward Island. Atlantic salmon is culturally significant to the Mi’kmaq community and is often used in ceremonial rites.
The Mission of the Abegweit Biodiversity Enhancement Hatchery is to replenish PEI river systems with indigenous and at-risk aquatic species through partnership, innovation, education and cultural integrity.
