Witness the past through the eyes of an archaeologist and experience firsthand how archaeological research has the power to bring people together in the present and past. Archaeological investigations at the Pointe-aux-Vieux site between 2008 and 2011 uncovered a remnant homestead containing thousands of personal belongings and objects associated with an Acadian family that settled in Malpeque Bay in the early to mid-18th century.
TechnoMedia partnered with Form Media in Halifax, and Skyline Atlantic in Dieppe, to develop the exhibition. This exhibition interprets and displays archaeological excavations at the 18th-century Acadian site called Pointe-aux-Vieux, located in western Prince Edward Island. TechnoMedia drew on our past successes creating museum exhibits to produce 100 interpretive signs for the exhibition.
PEI Digging into the Past: An Archaeological Discovery in Malpeque Bay is an archaeological exhibit taking place at the Acadian Museum, in Miscouche, and is sponsored by the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation.
