Produced by the Prince Edward Island Museum and Heritage Foundation, Historic Furniture of Prince Edward Island is the first comprehensive survey of P.E.I. historic furniture. This beautiful book covers a cross-section of the higher-end formal furniture made by trained cabinet makers, country furniture made by competent joiners, and primitive furniture made by the early settlers. The 352-page hardcover book contains 750 colour photos and field note sketches, the rich volume describes and analyzes a wide range of Island-made and imported furniture, covering 200 years of Island history.
The book was authored by James Macnutt with photography by Maurice Roy and additional research and images by Dr. Don Stewart.
TechnoMedia worked in close collaboration with the client, author and photographer, and were involved in planning, project management, book design and layout, printing, selecting and Photoshopping over 700 images.
“I commend TechnoMedia for its exceptional skills for completion of the 350-page book, acclaimed as visually one of the finest books on an Island topic yet created. A substantial degree of the credit is attributable to the conscientious, patient and diligent work of TechnoMedia.”
~ James Macnutt“You need this book! There, I’ve said it. Yes, I know I’m supposed to be cool, calm, dispassionate. This is a book review, after all – so, just the facts please. And yet, with this book, I find that impossible. You get it all in this book: scholarly research, detailed explanation, stories behind the Island’s furniture-making traditions, including the people as well as the pieces, plus a plethora of wonderful images.”
